Vanier STRIKE RULES
Teachers who participate in strike activities will receive $140 of strike pay per day;
-the VCTA strike fund will be used to top-up the funds given by the CSN Defense Fund
- payments will be made by the end of any 10 working days unless the conflict ends early,
-the VCTA strike fund is activated if VCTA members are on strike.
-To be eligible for strike pay, VCTA members must actively participate in the strike by performing assigned strike duties:
i-actively participate in the picket line for at least 4hrs
ii-the equivalent time in other relevant activities
(babysitting, poster making, picket captains, buying & distributing supplies)
-picketers must sign-in with picket captain in their assigned area & sign-out after their shift ends.
-the picket captain will initial as a witness
(Picketers agree to remain in the specific area assigned)
-teachers doing other activities, other than picketing, will be similarly monitored and recorded
To be eligible for strike pay, every teacher: - must be a dues-paying member and in “good standing” as defined in the VCTA bylaws. (Membership cards will be available on site for a fee of $2.00)
- comply with the CSN-FDP rules – complete and sign a Strike Pay Application form (provided by the VCTA)
